Happy Sunday, Brionies!
Here’s what you need to know about San Francisco politics this week and beyond:
City Hall
Monday, November 27 at 10am: Regular Meeting of the Rules Committee, (agenda and call-in instructions here):
Item 1 – Ordinance amending the Administrative Code to strengthen the Controller’s audit and monitoring responsibilities with respect to nonprofit organizations that contract with the City. San Francisco spends more than $1.7 billion a year on 600+ nonprofits. Supervisor Catherine Stefani’s proposal would bring much-needed accountability to the expenditure of these funds.
Tuesday, November 28 at 2pm: Regular Meeting of the Board of Supervisors, (agenda and call-in instructions here):
Item 18 – Supervisor Ahsha Safaí’s poison pill amendment to Supervisor Matt Dorsey’s Police Full Staffing Act. We oppose Supervisor Safaí’s cynical #coptax for reasons outlined by Supervisor Dorsey in this piece.
Item 32 – Ordinance amending the Planning Code to encourage housing production by relaxing certain provisions.
Wednesday, November 29 at 10am: Regular Meeting of the Budget and Finance Committee, (agenda and call-in instructions here):
Item 8 – Ordinance shifting $39,500,000 from permanent salaries and dependent coverage fringe benefits in the Department of Public Health to overtime pay, in order to support projected increases.
