San Francisco City Hall
Our supervisors will consider several items relating to SFPD this week:
Monday, September 9 at 10am: Regular meeting of the Rules Committee (agenda here):
Item 5 – Ordinance approving the police department’s continued use of Non-City Entity surveillance cameras.
Tuesday, September 10 at 2pm: Regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors (agenda here):
Item 10 – Ordinance approving the police department’s inventory and policy relating to the use of unassisted aerial vehicles (re: drones).
Item 14 – Resolution to enter into a use agreement with a documentary film producer to develop and produce a documentary entitled, “SFPD Journey to Justice,” a retracing of the Civil Rights Movement and its connection to the modern policing profession. The documentary “will highlight SFPD’s work to understand the root causes of institutional racism and its effect on African Americans and other communities of color through the lens of the Civil Rights Movement and America’s struggles for liberty” and thereby “help attract the best and brightest recruits interested in becoming tomorrow’s SFPD members.”
